FRANKFORD – According to a recent report by the Philadelphia Daily News, Jeffione Thomas, a 17-year old junior at Frankford High School and star football player on it’s team was held down and beaten by a couple of truancy officers for allegedly being late for school.
The entire incident was caught directly on tape the morning of October 30, 2009. Thomas’s attorney, Fortunato Perri, Jr., says that the allegations of him initiating the assault on the school police are simply not true, and that the officers overreacted.
Thomas wrote in a published report that one of the two officers held him down, while the other threw punches at him. He immediately went to the hospital afterwards, where he had gashes to his face and loose teeth. This did not sit well with his family, and numerous students at the school and now, the tri-state area.
On December 14, 2009 a rally was held for Jeffione Thomas, where some of the local news media showed up. The National Action Network is also involved, which is a non-profit civil rights organization.

Are Philadelphia Police in a belief that they are above the law and can handcuff and beat students for something as minor as being late to school?
You be the judge. Here is raw footage of what the cameras discovered of the incident.
