‘E-Cigarettes’ Hottest New Product
‘Smoke Free’ E-Cigs are a True 21st Century Innovation.
KING OF PRUSSIA, USA (OnlyinPhiladelphia.com) — With more and more laws stepping up against tobacco smoking, smokers are now looking for law-abiding alternatives. There are now 86 countries that have implemented smoking bans to some degree in public areas; tobacco smokers across the globe are having trouble acquiring their nicotine fix without getting shite for it. Although there is still no national ban on smoking in the United States, the indoor bans have become much more widespread, especially in the past decade.
So what is the rationale for smoke-free laws? It is mainly enforced to protect people from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke (SHS) or passive smoking, which is the inhalation of smoke permeated by others tobacco cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc. Scientific evidence backs that exposure to this environmental smoke causes disease, disability, and death. Smoking tobacco has been attributed to over 400,000 deaths annually.
OnlyInPhiladelphia arrived at the King of Prussia mall to investigate an e-Cigarette kiosk parlor that was advertising and selling the electronic cigs to shoppers. Electronic cigarettes are personal vaporizers powered by a tiny rechargeable battery that release a vaporized solution of nicotine, the main substance responsible for the ‘buzz’ that a cigarette provides users. The filter is actually a unique replaceable cartridge that contains water, propylene glycol (to simulate smoke), nicotine, and a refreshing that emulates tobacco and other fruity flavors. We purchased one of these for the hefty price of $100 (although it sells for around $50 at online distributors) to put the product to the test.
“Smoke Free™ Electronic Cigarettes” at first glance resembles that of an ordinary cigarette with a tan filter and a white paper roll. There is even an LED light cover at the tip that mimics a burning cigarette when you inhale. I did notice a slightly heavy feel to the e-Cigarette, but was still comfortable to hold between the fingers. From a distance, there was virtually no difference in appearance, especially in darker settings when the e-Cigarette lights up with each drag.
The best part about the e-Cigarette is the enjoyable sensation of vapor, reminiscent of the taste of tobacco in a hookah. The electronic cigarette contains 99% water vapor and just 1% nicotine. There is no odor, no ash, and no lighter needed. No second hand smoke. These e-Cigarettes do not contain the 4,000 other chemicals as found in other tobacco products that are known to cause cancer. You can inhale for up to six seconds before it stops vaporizing the liquid nicotine solution. The vaporized mist provides an extremely pleasing and flavorful taste that you can feel within ten seconds.
Because it won’t burn or catch on fire, the e-cigarette can be placed just about anywhere. We took a few puffs in one spot and dropped it in back our pockets and resumed smoking in other various locations throughout the evening. One replaceable cartridge of nicotine is the equivalent to roughly a pack of 20 cigarettes, and our package came with five complimentary cartridges, so the equivalent to 100 cigarettes worth of nicotine. The refill cartridges come in an assortment of flavors ranging froms regular tobacco, vanilla, menthol, mint, almond, chocolate, coffee, strawberry, apple, cherry and more.
Currently in the United States use is unrestricted. This means since it is not a tobacco product and does not permeate tobacco smoke, it can be enjoyed just about anywhere where regular cigarettes and cigars are deemed illegal. That includes but is not limited to bars, restaurants, coffee shops, airports, classrooms, restrooms, hotel rooms, elevators, taxis, sports arenas, etc– this can be inhaled in all designated ‘non-smoking’ areas.
So the bottom line is that it looks like a real cigarette, feels like a real cigarette, tastes like a real cigarette, but it isn’t a real cigarette. It’s just a a tar-free way to enjoy smoking. Financially it is a cost effective alternative to heavy smokers. The average smoker spends close to $2000 annually to support their habit, whereas with the e-Cigarette you are paying closer to $1.50 per pack for the nicotine refill cartridges. We highly recommend trying one before they begin to seize imports.
