ABC to Air “The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding” March 8

[OnlyInPhiladelphia.com] – ABC has just announced it will air “Bachelor” star Jason Mesnick’s upcoming wedding to Molly Malaney in an upcoming special called “The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding,” to be hosted by “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison on March 8 from 8-10 p.m. ET.
The two-hour special will not only include the wedding but also various aspects of the wedding planning process, including Malaney’s dress fitting, and the twosome’s bachelor and bachelorette parties. Past couples and participants from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” will be there to share in the couple’s special day, as well as family and friends.
Mesnick and Malany will be joining Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter in sharing their big day with the rest of the American public. Mesnick and Malaney, however, will actually be the first “Bachelor” couple to wed, while Trista and Ryan were the first couple from the popular “Bachelorette” franchise to walk down the aisle back in 2003.
Mesnick’s season on “The Bachelor” (season 13) was one of the most talked about ever after he ended his engagement to former fiancé Melissa Rycroft in March 2009, one month after proposing, and then on “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose” special, in which he expressed his desire to work things out again with Malaney, originally his second choice. Today, Rycroft is celebrating her recent wedding to Tye Strickland, a new correspondent position for “Good Morning America,” and a former stint on “Dancing With the Stars.” Prior to becoming “The Bachelor,” the 33-year-old divorced Mesnick, father to son, Ty, was rejected by Deanna Pappas on “The Bachelorette.”
Despite the intense media scrutiny as a result of Mesnick’s public breakup with Rycroft and his on-again relationship with Malaney, the couple’s relationship progressed, as well as Malaney’s bond with Mesnick’s son, Ty.
Hopefully, no drama will ensue in this TV special, marking Jason and Molly’s return to reality television. “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” fans are looking forward, so stay tuned.
