Facebook Doppelgänger Week – Celebrity Look-A-Like Profile Pics

[OnlyInPhiladelphia.com] — You may have been Facebooking within the past few days when you might of had to do a double-take with one of your close friends, or of someone you know of.

You might even gone as far as clicking on their profile image thumbail to go to their page only to realize it wasn’t a picture of them but, of a celebrity who you may or may not agree they look like.

While it’s unknown how it all got started, it is now Doppelganger Week on Facebook. ‘Doppelganger’ refers to a look-alike creature, or a double or look-a-like of a living person.

The new social-networking fad seems to be encouraging Facebook users to upload a profile picture of their own self-proclaimed celebrity twin or one they have been told they resemble.

The News Feed Status Chains Read:

“It’s Doppelgänger week on Facebook; change your profile picture to someone famous (actor, musician, athlete, etc.) you have been told you look like. After you update your profile with your twin or switched at birth photo then cut/paste this to your status.”

OnlyInPhiladelphia.com has already updated you with several Facebook just-for-fun trends including the Bra colour statuses, the inches statuses, and gender battles provoked on the social networking elite. This seems to be the latest addition to the Facebook viral trends circulating within the online realm.

There is also a Facebook application called Face Double which will compare you within a database of celebrities to generate a look-a-like. See for yourself!

So whether you self-proclaim you look like Angelina Jolie, or others tell you that you look like Orlando Bloom is entirely up to you. Just be prepared for more ‘likes’ than ever before.
