Larry Mendte Returns to Local TV
-[OnlyInPhiladelphia.com]— Larry Mendte made his return to local television WPIX Channel-11 last Friday where he made his point of view known about the Tiger Woods scandal and who knew that Mendte could be a commentator with a sense of humor, too.
Mendte’s first segment that took place in a local bar aired in Philadelphia on MYPHL17 News at 10, his first appearance since summer 2008.
“My first commentary on Tiger Woods is running nationally tonight – it is on WGN Superstation at 9 – in New York on WPIX at 10:15 – and in Philly on WPHL’s 10PM news – I’ll be online – please give me feedback. I would love to hear what you think.” Mendte updated on his Facebook page.
His wife, Dawn Stensland Mendte seemed supportive of his role in the premiere of the piece on national TV: “Hi everyone – my husband Larry’s first national commentary is running tonight – It is on Tiger Woods – I have seen it and it is very funny – It is on in New York on WPIX at 10:15 – it is on My PHL 17 in Philly at 10 – and on in Chicago at 9 on WGN – please let us know what you think. (It is on many other stations in dozens of markets too)” she writes.
Larry has some do’s and don’ts for men and women alike, including a new way to talk about Tiger Woods to the opposite sex and what your answers really imply.
Just earlier that Friday, Tiger held his first public televised statement since the infamous Thanksgiving crash.
Larry Mendte used to be the former anchorman of KYW-TV CBS3 but was fired after the FBI investigated whether he hacked into former co-anchor Alycia Lane’s e-mail.
Mendte now offers commentary for the station and plans to appear appear five nights a week on the 10 p.m. news.
We want to know what you think about Larry Mendte returning on-air.
