PHILADELPHIA, PA —onlyinphiladelphia.com— After the 2 major storms hitting Philadelphia locals have dug their vehicles out on multiple occasions this week. The frustrations have increased as the winter season has brought a record total of 70+inches in the city. After hours of back breaking shoveling locals have been claiming their spots with objects to obstruct others from parking there. Some of the objects used consist of kitty litter containers, chairs, cones, tires and old rusty rims.
The policing of these spots have been protected by a simple key scrape against the individuals who “so called” steal these spots. Keep this in mind as you park throughout the city this weekend.
Also, Mayor Nutter is working with several businesses in the city with a “spread the love campaign”. The parking authority is one of the businesses to offer some love by offering free parking until Tuesday. All rules still apply, meaning if it’s 2 hour parking you need be out within the required time.
SEPTA, city garages, and select restaurants are all participating in the city campaign as it encourages business to get back to normal…
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, some parking garages are giving you the first four hours free followed by a $3 an hour rate.
