PHILADELPHIA, USA—(OiP)— The Philadelphia basketball legend has been officially let go by the Sixers.

Iverson was a shell of his former self in the few games he actually played. Coming in and off the bench is not the Iverson we grew to love the last time around.

Iverson was only averaging 15 points a game on a good night and was not as mobile as he would of liked to be.

This news comes in wake of the start of the second half of the season. Not only was A.I’s skills hurting on the court, he was also hurting emotionally because his 4-year old daughter has been very sick for months. No medical doctor can figure out what her ailment is.

Gen. Manager Ed Stefanaski commented on the release earlier today, “It has been very difficult for Allen and the team to maintain any consistency as he tries to balance his career with his personal life.

Iverson did not want to hurt the already struggling Sixers any more by putting media attention on them. His wish to be released was out of respect for the city he loves.

Some say it was a mistake letting him come back to Philly in the shape he was in. I disagree– Iverson was a staple for the Sixers and should always feel like he is at home when he steps on that court. By him coming back and trying to revive a dieing team shows heart for the City of Brotherly Love!
