ONLY IN PHILADELPHIA - In November of 2006, Matt Serra defeated Chris Lyle and became Ultimate Fighter 4’s Welterweight Champion, earning himself a fight for the title against Georges St. Pierre. In a matter of months later on April 7, 2007, Matt “The Terror” Serra re-entered the octagon of UFC 69 to seal his fate and simultaneously astonish the 15,000 attendees in just over three minutes into the fight. He won the war against the agile Georges St. Pierre by means of T.K.O. and acquired UFC’s Welterweight Title. Then, after coaching the Ultimate Fighter 6, Serra was awarded the envied Knockout of the Night for winning his UFC 109 fight with Frank Trigg in under two and a half minutes.
Now, on Saturday, May 15, 2010, the former UFC Welterweight Champion will make another welcomed appearance into the octagon and grace the Philadelphia area with his presence at Average Joe’s Mixed Martial Arts. This special opportunity to meet the UFC Pro fighter is not only a dream come true for loyal MMA fans, but also an event which newcomers to the sport will never forget attending. Additionally, there will be chances to train with Matt and learn a number of his famous fight-winning techniques and maneuvers. The morning seminar will take place from 10:00 to 12:15, followed by an afternoon seminar which begins at 2:30 and ends at 4:45. Also, the time frame in between these sessions is devoted to autographs and pictures with “The Terror” Serra.
Join other Mixed Martial Arts devotees and myself to help welcome Matt Serra and show him the spirit of Philadelphia! However, the exclusivity coupled with the high demand of this event guarantees a limited amount of space for the seminars, so it is wise to reserve your spot in order to train with the star. For further information about the event, please visit Average Joe’s website at GotOctogon.com or stop by their gym located at:
500 E. Broadway Ave. Building #5A, Clifton Heights, PA, 19018
