Carrabba’s in Bensalem Reopens After Investigation into Unsanitary Conditions

PHILADELPHIA, USA [Only In Philadelphia] – Carrabba’s, the large Italian chain, sister restaurants to Outback Steakhouse and Bonefish Grill, just reopened its suburban Philadelphia location in Bensalem on Tuesday after health inspectors determined it to be of unacceptable standards and unsanitary conditions.
An investigation was conducted after a phone call was received from a concerned person who warned of potential problems. Upon investigating, health inspectors found dead mice and roaches, mouse droppings, flies, and earthworms, as well as mold and old food scattered about the kitchen; this was not the first time either.
Other findings include decayed food inside refrigerators, broken glass, and moldy ice bins, as well as eating utensils stored in dirty areas.
Representatives from Carrabba’s Inc. apologized to customers and planned to remedy all problematic findings at the Bensalem location, while working with the health department to ensure proper sanitary conditions.
The restaurant was back open for business on Tuesday.
