Philadelphia Zoo Announces New Addition

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia Zoo announces new addition to the zoo family after a giraffe had given birth to a calf this past Saturday.

Stella, a giraffe in the zoo gave birth this past Saturday,  and is the first female giraffe born at the Zoo in 13 years and is the first offspring of Stella, 9, and Gus, 4

The Zoo says mother and calf are doing well but the first few weeks of the newborn’s life are critical and she will be closely monitored by animal and veterinary staff.

There hasn’t been any date when the calf will debut to the public.

The Philadelphia Zoo has a new addition.
