About Davio’s:
In 1985, at the young and ambitious age of 24, Steve DiFillippo purchased a locally-owned family restaurant called Davio’s on Newbury Street in Boston’s trendy Back Bay. As Boston’s culinary tastes evolved, he transformed the location into a destination, retooling the menu, the space and wine list. The new Davio’s soon garnered rave reviews.
The concept behind Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse is simple. Regional Italian food with a focus on the grill. Everything is prepared by hand from the best ingredients. Davio’s serves everything from aged steaks to simple-yet-unique pasta creations. Davio’s takes great pride in serving guests with an expert kitchen and attentive staff in the dining room, seeing to every customer’s enjoyment of their meal. Steve has since opened locations in Foxborough, Massachusetts (Patriot Place), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and with a new location in Atlanta, Georgia. For more information visit www.davios.com.
About Eberle Winery:
In 1973, Gary Eberle began his career in the wine industry by heading his family’s Estrella River Winery (currently Meridian Vineyards in Paso Robles) and produced 500,000 cases a year at its facility. Eberle’s pioneering spirit didn’t stop there. In 1980, he co-founded the Paso Robles Appellation and in 1983, Gary opened the doors to his own Eberle Winery with the premiere of Eberle’s 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Eberle handcrafts 25,000 cases of wine each year from surrounding Estate vineyards. And, after more than 25 years since the release of the Eberle label, the winery consistently remains one of the highest award-winning wineries in the United States.
About Dreadnought Wines:
Started in 1980 by Bob Gonze and Shawn Beck, the mission of Dreadnought Wines was to bring new and exciting specialty and gourmet wines to Pittsburgh, while providing an alternate method of purchasing through the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s system. Unlike the PLCB, Bob and Shawn wanted to offer the public wine tastings, knowledgeable advice and credit card acceptance, innovative ideas that were immediately challenged by the State. As a result, they named the company Dreadnought Imports LTD after a class of English ships which were originally designed to navigate turbulent waters. In 1986 Mike Gonze, the current President, purchased the company, continued its mission and established a truly unique enterprise. In 1992 he moved the business to its current location and partnered with Deb Mortillaro, owner of a retail store, The Butler’s Secret, to expand the non-wine component of the business by adding wine accessories and Riedel stemware. Responding to the demands of their clients, in 1995 Mike and Deb created Palate Partners to market their gift baskets and in that same year, launched a thriving monthly Wine Club. The PLCB has followed many of Dreadnought’s leads and now offers wine club memberships.
