Unchained, in collaboration with the Philly Wings, will attempt to hold the Biggest
Dodgeball Game EVER in Philadelphia on April 2nd 2011 at the Wells Fargo Center.
The goal is to have a game of 1,000 players — 500 players on 500 players — and
proceeds from the event will benefit Life Unchained’s charitable efforts locally. (Should
the event gain steam, there is also a large possibility of going after the world record of
1,800 players.)
Interest for the event has been considerable, with nearly 500 players having already
signed up online, virally spreading interest through word of mouth to friends and family.
Says Executive Director, Pat Dobslaw, of Life Unchained: “There’s never been an event
quite like this in Philadelphia, and we hope to put Philly on the dodgeball map by
hosting this one-of-a-kind event.”
Life Unchained is a relatively new organization in the community, and is based in
Norristown, PA. The mission of Life Unchained is to raise funds for first-time, altruistic
dream projects in the area, and over its three years in existence has raised over
$100,000 for local efforts.
Tickets are available for purchase online at phillydodgeball.com, and ticket cost is $35,
which includes the dodgeball event, a free ticket to the night’s Philly Wings game, an
event t-shirt, charity wrist bracelet, and miscellaneous free items from event sponsors.
