After winning the wing bowl five times, at age 50, Bill “El Wingador” Simmons, is determined to beat Jonathan “Super Squibb,” who has won the competition the last three years. Wing Bowl 19 is this Friday, February 3^rd at 6:00 AM located at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Last year, El Wingador, 6 foot 5 and 330 pounds, ate 254 wings and was one short to Super Squibb’s plate of 255 and lost. Everyone is excited to see if El Wingador can keep his reputation as the best Wing Bowl champion.

Philadelphia Industry Lounge makes its third appearance in Park City!

January 13, 2012 – Park City, UT –The Philadelphia Industry Lounge presented by Janney Montgomery Scott, LLC will be bringing brotherly love to the 2012 Sundance Film Festival this January for its third appearance at the internationally acclaimed independent cinema festival. Located inside the Sky Lodge hosted by Gen ART, (Main Street and Heber Ave), the Philadelphia Industry Lounge is open from 12pm to 5pm Friday, January 20^th through Sunday, January 22^nd.

The Philadelphia Industry Lounge offers filmmakers and entertainment professionals a place to learn about the invaluable resources available in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. From impressive financial incentives, locations to suit every backdrop, accommodating city services and support from The Philadelphia Film Office, the Philadelphia region is an excellent place for film and video production.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS RECAP

Moving right along with award show season, the People’s Choice Awards took place last night with Kaley Cuoco acting as host. Katy Perry seemed to have garnered the most attention simply by not showing up. The event would have marked her first appearance post divorce served up by comedian, Russell Brand. Despite the breakup, the California girl managed to rack up the most awards, with five, including favorite female artist and song of the year. Other big winners were Harry Potter, with four and Emma Stone, with two.

As per usual, the PCAs were less than thrilling in terms of fashion. Demi Lovato and Kelly Osbourne seemed to breeze by all other attendees right to the top of the best-dressed list. Demi wore an elegant, peach, floor length Marchesa dress. Kelly took a more modest approach with a casual, floor length, orange and nude colored gown but shook it up a bit, sporting a newly grey hairdo. The worst dressed, you ask? Terrance Howard. He wore jeans complete with a paisley crushed velvet suit jacket. Enough said.

I am a college student so spending hundreds of dollars isn’t ideal for me and I’m sure many other college students feel the same way! I came across a website called LivingSocial that I recently became a huge fan of. There are so many things my friends and I can do around Philly without spending a fortune. The best part of LivingSocial is that it is for everyone! There are activities for group of friends or families and they are offering packages like yoga combined with beer tasting, and night tubing combined with a pub party. There are so many deals on restaurants also, including a dinner and wine pairing for two.
LivingSocial makes it easier to locate a deal that you are looking for with different tabs called adventures, escapes, families, etc. In the escapes tab, a great deal popped up that my friends and I are definitely going to take advantage of! A one night stay with two beds is available in the Chelsea, a beautiful hotel in Atlantic City. Along with the room, VIP access to C5 night club, parking, and dinner is included for just 69 dollars! There are only five days of this deal remaining, so get it while it’s hot!

If I were you I would take advantage of these great deals!

Boyz II Men Gets a Star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Philadelphia’s own Boyz II Men will finally get their due with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The iconic R&B group (Wanya Morris, Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman) will be honored with the first star of 2012, and will be placed near legendary Motown artists like Stevie Wonder and The Supremes.

Boyz II Men was formed in 1988 and have won four Grammys and sold over 60 million recordings.

“I’ll Make Love to You” and “One Sweet Day” (with Mariah Carey), each exceeded records for the longest period of time a single remained at number 1.

Their achievements were enough to earn Boyz II Men recognition as Billboard Magazine‘s most successful musical group of the 1990s

The unveiling ceremony will take place on Jan. 5, 2012!
